At Littlefoot Sleep, we don’t just focus on sleep – building foundations for development by giving babies the tools for communication before words arrive. Our Baby Sign & Sensory (Baby Key Word Sign) classes are designed to assist you in giving your child the tools to express their needs, emotions, and interests well before they say their first words.

With over 100 baby signs, we’ve made it simplified by breaking these down into themed sessions to make learning easy and fun for both you and your little one. The following themes are included in our classes:

What’s included?

Tips for Daily Routines – How to weave signs into your baby’s feeding, sleep, and play – in a fun and interactive way without feeling overwhelmed.

Hands-On Learning – live demonstrations, interactive practice with music, songs and sensory fun, and plenty of time for questions.

Take-Home Resources – a printed chart/guide each week to keep practicing at home.

Connection & Support – guidance from a certified educator (and mum of two!) plus the chance to connect with other likeminded parents in a calm and supportive environment.

What is Baby Key Word Sign?

Baby key word sign is a simple and super effective way to help little ones communicate before they can talk. Instead of learning a full sign language, we use just the key words in a sentence and pair them with speech. Think “milk”, “more”, “finished”, “sleep” – short, meaningful signs that babies can copy long before they can say the words out loud.

Families, educators and early-childhood professionals love it because it reduces frustration, boosts connection and supports strong early language skills.

Baby key word sign is not the same as Auslan or American Sign Language. It’s not a full language and it doesn’t replace speech. It’s a gentle visual support that makes everyday communication clearer and more meaningful for you and your child.

Who can come?

Our baby sign language classes are designed for parents/guardians and their babies up to 18 months old. Whether you’re looking to ease daily frustrations, strengthen your bond, or simply have fun learning together, these classes are the perfect fit.
